Responsibilities

This faculty member will act as lead instructor and have primary responsibility for the Computer Networking segment of the CIS program at the Larimer Campus, with direct responsibility for mentoring part-time instructors, ongoing course management, and curriculum development. Responsibilities also include development of the CIS program and managing the budget for any Computer Networking program grants. Assist with the scheduling, ordering books and managing of all Computer Networking (CNG), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Science (CSC), and Web Authoring (CWB) courses. The position requires teaching 15 credit hours per semester of both campus-based and online courses. In addition, the faculty member must coordinate operating systems courses in both Microsoft systems and in LINUX systems. The position requires a team player, who can initiate and administer projects with high schools and industry. In addition to teaching and advising students, other responsibilities include campus leadership, strategic planning, working with industry or community groups, serving on departmental and college-wide committees, assessing student academic achievement and other college activities as assigned by the Chair or Deans.

Full-time faculty at FRCC will be expected to assume instructional leadership roles including hiring and mentoring part-time instructors, developing curriculum, scheduling classes, advising students, working with industry or community groups, serving on departmental and college-wide committees, assessing student academic achievement and possibly serving as lead faculty or department chair. Other duties may be assigned by the Deans. All full-time faculty may be asked to teach partly online, depending on the needs of their program area. 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a CIS vocational credential.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Three or more years higher education teaching experience, and/or additional certifications (Security+, Network+, MCP/MCSA/MCSE, A+).
  • Extensive work experience and relationships in the IT field.
  • Experience in community college teaching.

Salary

$40,165-$49,106 depending on education and experience. This is a 9 month position paid out over 12 months.

Selection Process
