The Social Sciences Department includes fields of academic scholarship that draw upon empirical research methodologies that explore the phenomenon of human society. These methods include qualitative research, critical analysis, and hermeneutics. Our department strives to teach students to understand human behavior in isolation and in groups and focuses on the studies of demographics, sociopolitical history, governmental organization, human relationships with environmental factors, definitions of race, gender, and class, and other areas.
