College Hill Library at Westminster Campus

Reserve Materials

Reserve items are a separate collection of specific books, periodical articles or other materials (including videos, DVDs and other media) that faculty members may set aside for students to read or view for a particular course. The Collection is housed behind the 2nd floor circulation desk. These materials have a shortened loan period to ensure that a higher number of students have rapid access to them.  Complete the Reserve Request Form and bring your materials to the Circulation Desk.

Reference and Instruction

The FRCC Library Instruction Program promotes library learning and supports the educational goals of students and faculty.  Student success is enhanced with library-related instruction that enables them to locate, evaluate and utilize information. FRCC faculty and local high schools can request assistance in designing library assignments or have library staff design library-related instruction in the context of specific assignments.  If you or your students have research needs, see Research Help.

Library Collections

The Library’s collections support the college curriculum and the research and study needs of students by providing a core of introductory materials in the area of study.  Levels of collection intensity are either at:

  • A basic level, which includes most recognized standard books and one or two periodical titles, or
  • A medium level, which includes most recognized standard books, some periodicals and some judicious supplemental coverage as needed

The library's collections support the college curriculum and the research and study needs of the students.  We welcome faculty recommendations.  You know best what resources your students will need, so please let us know!

Books and A/V materials are collected year-round.  Changes to print periodical subscriptions are made in September, with new subscriptions beginning in January.  You do not need to fill out any official paperwork; just contact the collection development librarian  with your request.
