College Hill Library at Westminster Campus
If we do not have an item you need, you can request that item from another local library. You can borrow books, obtain photocopies of magazine and journal articles, and in some instances microfiche, microfilm, and videotapes.
Submitting Requests
Front Range Community College students, faculty, and staff may submit requests using our online forms (listed to the right). A current, activated Wolf Card is required to submit requests. Wolf Cards can be purchased at Student Services and activated at the library’s 2nd floor circulation desk. Requests are processed as they are received; generally within 24 hours. To ensure timely delivery, patrons should submit requests fourteen or more days before items are needed.
Material Delivery
Patrons residing within the local calling area (303 or 720) may choose to be notified by telephone or email when materials arrive. Those residing outside of the local calling area will be notified by e-mail when materials arrive. Physical materials will be placed on the self-serve hold shelves on the 1st floor of the library. After 7 days, holds expire and items will be pulled for return to the lending library. Electronic materials will be emailed directly to patrons as soon as they are received by FRCC.
Loan Periods
Lending libraries establish loan periods for materials, up to a maximum of three weeks. Those who wish to retain an item beyond its initial due date should inform FRCC interlibrary loan personnel of this fact three or more days prior to the due date. An extension cannot be guaranteed, and the decision on a longer checkout period will be made by the lending library. Copied or emailed articles are the borrower's to keep.
Borrowing Limitations
Patrons will be limited to five simultaneous requests including those already filled or in process. Current copyright laws prohibit the library from ordering more than five articles dated within the past five years from any one particular journal title during any one given year unless copyright fees are paid to the publisher. FRCC/College Hill Library materials available for circulation, and textbooks used in FRCC courses, will not be borrowed. Any type of library material may be requested. However, many libraries will not lend rare or expensive items, reference books, dissertations, theses, media items, books published in the current year, unique items which would be difficult or impossible to replace, fragile items, entire issues or volumes of journals, and microforms. Lending libraries do have the right to recall an item from a FRCC borrower. If this happens, you will be contacted in the same manner as when notified of your item’s arrival.
Borrowing Patron Responsibilities
If the item must be ordered from a library that charges a fee, the borrowing patron is responsible for payment of the fee. College Hill Library staff will obtain patron approval before completing requests with associated charges. Failure to pay charges or return materials on time may result in suspension of library privileges.
Overdue & Lost Items
Overdue fines and lost book fees are determined by the lending library. A book may be considered lost when the lending library declares it lost. In order to avoid late fines, please make sure ILL items are returned by the date given at checkout.
