Financial Aid

Effect of Outside Assistance

There are limits to the amount of financial aid that students can receive. All funds that the Financial Aid Office awards are derived from either federal or state tax dollars, and thus, we work hard to ensure that aid is being awarded to students who need it most.

If the Financial Aid Office is notified (after an award has been made) that a student has received an outside scholarship that puts the student in an “over-award” status, we will be required to make adjustments to the award. Put simply, students cannot receive more aid than the Cost of Attendance (COA) for Front Range Community College, nor can students receive more need-based aid than the COA minus the Expected Family Contribution (EFC).
