Note Taking Services

Note taking services are provided to qualified students whose disability affects independent note taking in the classroom. Note taking is primarily provided on a volunteer basis by student peers. Note takers are offered a small stipend if they choose, at the end of the semester. The success of this service relies on students, the Office of Disability Services and faculty working together to provide this accommodation.

Are you interested in becoming a note taker?

Note taking is a very important instructional support service provided to students with disabilities, and we welcome student assistance.

How do I become a note taker?

If a note taker is needed in one of your classes, the instructor will make an announcement. Please contact the Office of Disability Services on your campus for more information and to complete paperwork. Note takers are not employees of the college.

How may I get paid?

A check will be mailed to you at the end of the semester. In order to be paid, you will need to complete the initial paperwork when you begin taking notes and turn in a record of your work at the end of the job.
