Tutoring at Westminster Campus and Brighton Center
One-on-One Tutoring
We offer one-on-one tutoring free of charge to eligible students. A list of private (not free) tutors will be provided to those who do not qualify for free tutoring services, or who wish to hire their own tutor.
To request personal tutoring:
- Obtain a written statement from your instructor stating that you are not likely to receive a "C" or higher in the class without tutoring help.
- Download, complete and sign the Referral for Tutoring form.
- Get your instructor’s signature on this form. A tutor cannot be assigned without the instructor's signature.
- If you are taking an online course, have your instructor e-mail their permission to the tutoring office at any campus.
- Drop off your form:
- Westminster Campus students—leave forms in the box outside room B1208
- Brighton Center students—fax the form (or send it via intercampus mail) to us
- Online students—drop off your forms at the campus most convenient to you
- You will be called with a scheduled appointment and you will meet that tutor at the Learning Center. Typically, you will be contacted within 2-3 business days.
- You and the tutor will then coordinate tutoring times.
Tutoring Eligibility
You will continue to be eligible for tutoring sessions as long as you:
- Attend class and all tutoring sessions regularly
- Attempt to complete your homework before all tutoring sessions
- Arrive to all tutoring sessions on time prepared with specific questions
- Continue to struggle to keep your grade above a C
