This digital media degree gives students the foundation to go into a variety of fields, from traditional advertising agencies to design agencies to video production companies to web production companies. You'll learn how to use industry-standard design software and learn about typography, images, and the creative process involved in designing graphics that clearly present information. Our digital media degree program also includes a series of art courses to give students a solid foundation in the core of graphic design.

Students choose from four areas of concentration. See required courses for:

  • Animation – Focuses on basic design concepts, basic and advanced drawing techniques, story boarding, and 3D animation technology.
  • Graphic Design – Focuses on the traditional aspects of graphic design and print materials, including digital illustrations, photography, and dynamic page layouts.
  • Web Media – Focuses on web and multimedia design, including web design, web programming, web animation, and video editing.
  • Video – Focuses on video editing for television and commercial applications, production of interactive CDs, and original video production.

Animation

This certificate program prepares you for entry-level positions dealing with the production of interactive presentations, medical illustration, gaming, web animation, and cartooning.

State-of-the-Art Digital Media Facilities

Students work with the latest design software (including the Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, and Cinema 4D) in our state-of-the-art labs, gaining practical experience that they’ll use in the industry. Students at the Boulder County Campus run a graphic design agency, while students at the Westminster Campus show their work at a Student Video Expo each year.

The instructors in the Multimedia Technology Program have won at film festivals, earned Emmy, Clio, and other awards, and have a breadth of professional experience.
