Institutional Research

The IR Mission Statement

The Office of Institutional Research at FRCC accurately and completely collects, manages, analyzes, and reports data for the purpose of supporting and anticipating the needs of the communities we serve, meeting external mandates, and supporting college-wide decision and policy making.

FRCC Trends display longitudinal data on student demographics, applications, enrollment, retention, transfer and graduation rates, and degrees awarded.

College Data includes reporting information about staff distribution at the college and student/faculty ratios.

Degrees Awarded  data represent official CCHE data and are reported at the program level by academic year.

Financial Aid  data are provided by academic year.

The Common Data Set  (CDS) is an effort to improve the reliabilty and validity of higher education data reported by institutions and publications through the creation of standard data items and definitions.

Environmental Scanning  is a widely accepted technique for monitoring the pulse of change in the external environment, whether it be in political, economic, technological, or social arenas. It can provide information to help guide institutional decision-making by alerting managers to trends and issues that may affect the organization’s future.

The FRCC Fact Book  is an annual publication produced by the Office of Institutional Research and is intended to serve as a general overview and quick reference tool. Enrollment data are produced from end-of-term frozen extract data files. Academic year information is based on consecutive Summer, Fall, and Spring semesters. All fiscal data were collected as of June 30th.

Geographic Information System data allow us to better visualize institutional/environmental scanning data by allowing us to distinguish trends or patterns that may have gone unnoticed if the data had been presented in traditional tables or graphs.

High School Reports are created and distributed for each of the 13 school districts in the Front Range Community College service areas. Data are for fall end of term and comprise demographic and academic information in total for each of the school districts as well as for each of the high schools within the districts.

Imputed FTE reflects FTE from vestibule labs.

Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews any research involving human subjects conducted at, or supported by, any of the FRCC campuses/sites.

The Quality Indicators Report reflects a detailed collection and analysis of the college's performance when compared to mandated, state-wide performance standards.

Research Briefs are published periodically for the purpose of informing others about the types of information available in the Office of Institutional Research and to provide a brief synopsis of current issues or findings.

Student Assessment is outside the scope of the Office of Institutional Research (OIR). However, the OIR serves as a resource/consultant for techniques of institutional research, research methodologies, and the design and execution of institutional surveys used for assessment reporting. The OIR also provides the annual CAAP analysis and annual ACT/CAAP gains analysis.

Student Standard Statistics include basic student demographic data and course data by campus. These data are posted at end-of-term only because census data are preliminary and subject to change. If you would like census data, please contact the OIR for a hard copy of that data.

Student Success includes matriculation, retention, graduation, and transfer data.

Student Enrollment Reports reflect official CCHE data.

Survey Results reflect FRCC's efforts solicit and report the feedback of students, graduates, and employers on a variety of issues.

Data Requests should be completed to request ad hoc information from the Office of Institutional Research. Turn-around time on requests is dependent on work load in the office but is generally not longer than 7-10 days.

Getting To Know The IR Department includes information about each of the OIR staff and their respective job duties.
