A little about me:
I am a graduate of Kansas State University (Go Cats!) I have been in Fort Collins for 5 years, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. My husband and I have one daughter who is almost 2 and keeps us on our toes. We enjoy hiking, camping and backpacking. I use any excuse I can to get outside and enjoy nature!
What I teach:
The Secondary Wildlife, Forestry and Natural Resources program provides students with entry-level job skills in the field of natural resources including forestry, wildlife management, outdoor recreation, environmental science, ecology, water and soil resources, and conservation. It is a one-year certificate program for juniors and seniors in high school. The course is broken down into six units, each focusing on a specific aspect of natural resources. Students will play an active role in their education by participating in numerous labs and field exercises that complement classroom instruction. In addition, guest speakers and internships provide students with an awareness of the real-world application of natural resources.
Who can take this course?
Any high school Junior or Senior in the PSD, TR2J, or Windsor school district is eligible for the course. See your high school counselor about applying for the upcoming school year. Registration is usually toward the beginning of the spring semester. Oh, the best part. . . your school pays for the class!
