Geographic Information Systems – Online Learning
Dave is a Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional. Certification from the GIS Certification Institute requires proficiency in education achievement, professional experience, contributions to the profession, and adherence to the institute’s code of ethics and rules of conduct.
Dave has been applying his skills and knowledge in various industries for 35 years. He has been creating information systems applications software since 1975. He wrote controls programming for speech synthesis, spectral analysis and system controls before beginning work with information systems in 1987. He wrote C++ information systems device drivers for peripherals and UNIX kernal applications for geographic information systems (GIS).
Working in the Colorado Governor’s Energy Office, Dave created and managed remote sensing and geographic data strategies for the development of Colorado’s renewable energy generation development areas. He designed and wrote VB6, ASP, and VB.Net enterprise software applications for commercial professional services clients including the John F. Kennedy and Los Angeles international airports, earning performance commendations from the American Association of Airline Executives. He has taken his expertise on other assignments in Europe and the Caribbean.
