Nowell Busch
Interpreter Preparation Program Director - Westminster Campus
Nowell taught American Sign Language at the University of Rochester for 15 years and at numerous high schools in the Rochester, N.Y., area for 10 years before joining Front Range Community College in 2009. She has also worked as a sign language consultant for performance interpreters and was the coordinator of performance sign interpreters at GeVa Theatre in Rochester. For 10 years, Nowell was a deaf interpreter in Rochester.
Teaching Philosophy
Nowell believes that it is imperative to have high-quality interpreters to facilitate communication between hearing and deaf people, and thus, she has high expectations for IPP students. Nowell’s passion is teaching and she enjoys seeing IPP students grow and become involved in the deaf community.
