Disbursement of Funds

Front Range Community College pays (or disburses) funds on eligible student accounts after the end of the add/drop period for each semester that financial aid is awarded.

Amount of Financial Aid Awards

All awards are offered with the assumption of full time enrollment (12 credit hours or more). That doesn't mean that you have to be enrolled in 12 or more credits to receive financial aid, payments depend on the number of credits you are taking. When we pay funds toward your balance with FRCC, funds will be prorated as follows:

Pell Grant Example of $5,730 Awarded Over Two Semesters.

$2,865 awarded each semester.

If Enrollment is: Amount Disbursed will be:
Full-time (12 or more credits): $2,865 or 100% of award
Three-quarters time (9-11 credits): $2,149 or 75% of award
Half-time (6-8 credits): $1,433 or 50% of award
*Less than half-time (less than 6 credits): $717 or 25% of award

 

Colorado Student Grants (CSG), Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), and Institutional Grant example of $2,000 Over Two Semesters.

If Enrollment is: Amount Disbursed will be:
Full-time (12 or more credits): $1,000 or 100%of award
Three-quarters time (9-11 credits): $750 or 75% of award
Half-time (6-8 credits): $500 or 50% of award
*Less than half-time (less than 6 credits): $0 or 0% of award

Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loan example of $2,000 over two Semesters.

Full-time (12 or more credits): $1,000 or 100% of award
Three-quarters time (9-11 credits): $1,000 or 100% of award
Half-time (6-8 credits): $1,000 or 100% of award
*Less than half-time (less than 6 credits): $0 or 0% of award

Getting a Refund

Financial aid is paid on your student account to cover eligible tuition and fees as well as certain bookstore charges. If you will receive money after this happens, the Cashier’s Office will process the refund. Learn more about refunds.
