Susan is the Hospitality Program Director at the Larimer Campus. Susan began teaching at Front Range Community College as a chef instructor in 2012. She moved into her current position in 2014. In addition to her extensive and varied career in the hospitality industry, Susan was also an adjunct instructor at Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder, CO. She also has many years of experience in training and development within the hospitality industry.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe that we all learn in different ways. It is extremely important to me to get to know my students well so that I understand how they learn and reach them on that level. It is imperative that I communicate with them in such a way that they know that I am an advocate for their success. My goal with each class is to not only teach the theories and principles of any given subject, but to deliver practical information and counsel from my career experience that my students can apply outside of the classroom as they pursue and develop their careers.
