Veteran or Military

You are an Honorably Discharged Veteran or Dependent

Veterans and their dependents may qualify for in-state tuition. Veteran students and their dependents that have been approved for in-state residency are eligible to receive a stipend from the College Opportunity Fund.

To qualify for in-state tuition, Veterans submit:

  1. Veteran Residency Requirement Waiver online form.
  2. With the online form, upload a copy of your DD214, long version including items 23-30. Please remember to remove your SSN from the DD214 documents.

The waiver form and required documents will be electronically submitted to the Registrar's Office at your campus. The priority deadline is 30 days after the start of your earliest course. The final deadline is the last day of the semester.

Dependents of Veterans submit:

  1. Veteran Dependent Residency Requirement Waiver online form.
  2. With the online form, upload a copy of:
  • The veteran’s DD214, long version including items 23-30.  Please remember to remove your SSN from the DD214 documents.
  • Either a marriage certificate (if spouse of the veteran) or a birth certificate (if child of the veteran).

The waiver form and required documents will be electronically submitted to the Registrar's Office at your campus. The priority deadline is 30 days after the start of your earliest course. The final deadline is the last day of the semester.

Students may submit this form once every 12 months for a maximum of up to 6 terms. Students who believe they meet the Colorado residency requirements must submit a Petition For Residency Form by the established deadline to have your residency classification evaluated.


You are Active Duty Military or Dependent

Active members of the armed forces of the United States and Canada on permanent or temporary duty stationed in Colorado and their dependents are eligible for in-state tuition rates, regardless of length of residence in Colorado. The military member must have reported to a duty station in the State, as certified by their military command, by the first day of class of the applicable academic term. Only those stationed on permanent duty are eligible to receive a stipend from the College Opportunity Fund.

To receive in-state tuition, submit:

  1. Military Certification for Tuition Classification form
  2. If you are a dependent, you must also provide and either a marriage certificate (if spouse) or a birth certificate (if child under the age of 23) or the Veteran Dependent Residency Requirement Waiver form.
  3. The classification form must be submitted to the Registrar's Office at your campus. The priority deadline is 30 days after the start of your earliest course. The final deadline is the last day of the semester. You must submit a new Military waiver for each semester you plan to enroll.
