How To Get Started

Step 1: Submit an Application

Get started by filling out our online application. Applying is free and, if you’re over 17, our open enrollment policy means you’re automatically in! If you’re applying for financial aid, you’ll also want to get started on your FAFSA. FRCC’s federal school code is 007933.

Step 2: Attend a Get Started Session

These interactive sessions will tell you everything you need to know about signing up for classes, getting financial aid, and taking advantage of all your program has to offer. See when sessions are offered at BoulderLarimer and Westminster campuses or via an interactive online webinar. If you are not able to attend in person, you can view a recorded session.

Step 3: Take the Assessment

FRCC does not require testing to be admitted to the college. You may need to complete a math and language skills assessment to help place you in the right classes (unless you qualify for an exemption). Complete this form to help determine if you need to take the assessment. The assessment is free. No appointment is necessary, but use the study guides to make sure you are ready.

Step 4: Meet with an Academic Advisor

Our experienced advisors will help you interpret your assessment results, pick the right classes, map out your education, and understand program requirements. Have a question about your education? Your advisor is the person to ask.

Step 5: Register for Classes

Register for classes as early as possible. See registration and other important dates. And if the class you want is full? Join the course waitlist and check your email for an opening.

Step 6: Pay Tuition

You’ll need to pay your tuition and fees, apply your financial aid award, or create a monthly payment plan by the payment deadline.

After You've Enrolled
