What is the ASCENT Program?

A TUITION FREE year of college after high school here at FRCC!

ASCENT, or Accelerating Students through Concurrent ENrollmenT, is fifth-year high school program where eligible students who have successfully completed at least 12 college credits prior to high school graduation can receive another year of college here at FRCC tuition free. While tuition is covered by the school district, students may be responsible for the cost of textbooks and fees.

Please refer to your school district for specific ASCENT application and qualification information:

If you're a 2022-2023 ASCENT candidate who has applied to the program, you must meet with a Pathways Advisor by completing the following steps:

  1. Fill out the Concurrent Enrollment Advising form. The form will be reviewed by our department and forwarded to the Advising department. Within 5 to 7 business days of submission, you will receive a follow-up email from the Advising team prior to registration opening in April. This email will let you know who your assigned Pathways Advisor is and provide instructions on how to set up an appointment with them. Please check both your FRCC and personal email accounts for this email. Please note, if you submit the form after registration opens, there may be a delay in scheduling your appointment due to advisor availability. If you have not received an email from the Advising team within 5 to 7 business days after submitting your form, please contact the Concurrent Enrollment office at 970-204-8370.
  2. Attend an optional FRCC Orientation. This orientation will provide you with additional campus and college information.
