Westminster Social & Behavioral Sciences Department

The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department explores different aspects of human society and behavior. Critical thinking about humans’ real-world experiences is a primary purpose of all the SBS Department courses. Some of the methods of study include actual observations of people, interviews of various ethnic or cultural groups of people, and analyzing empirical research. The department strives to teach students to understand human behavior in isolation and in groups and focuses on the studies of demographics, sociopolitical history, governmental organization, human relationships with environmental factors, definitions of race, gender, and class, and other areas.
