Computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CAD) Degree

Offered at: Larimer, Westminster

A.A.S. in Computer-Aided Drafting

60 credits
(4 semesters)

With this CAD degree students will be prepared to enter the workforce as a skilled CAD technician. Students will graduate with advanced CAD skills by training on the most current CAD software. Students complete 2D and 3D projects with an emphasis on the unique needs of small- to mid-sized companies seeking employees with advanced and specialized computer-aided drafting skills.

You may complete a Basic CAD certificate, enter the workforce, and then return at any time to upgrade specific skills while pursuing advanced certificate offerings or an AAS degree.

Advanced 3D Printing & 3D Scanning

(2 semesters)

This certificate prepares you to be proficient in the use of 3D Printing & 3D Scanning software & technology using Advanced CAD modeling software specific to the industry of their choice.

Advanced Architectural Computer-Aided Drafting

28 credits
(2 semesters)

This certificate offers advanced training in CAD for the professional or technician already employed in the field, or for students working toward the architectural concentration within the CAD or Architectural and Building Science programs.

With this certificate you will be proficient in the use of computer-aided drafting with a concentration in Civil CAD applications.

With this certificate you will be proficient in the latest release of AutoCAD software and know the basics of Google Sketchup®.

Transfer Options

Our faculty has worked closely with the University of Colorado-Boulder and Colorado State University so several CAD classes will transfer. Of course, there also are plenty of general-education classes guaranteed to transfer. As always, work closely with your advisor.
