Crowdfunding is the practice of obtaining contributions from a large number of people to provide funding for a particular project or campaign, usually via the Internet. Crowdfunding works when people become engaged to support a campaign and share their commitment to their social network.
Crowdfunding is an online fundraising tool utilized by the FRCC Foundation that enables individuals and organizations to create and share fundraising campaigns with an engaged community. This Crowdfunding platform can empower the entire community to come together and create lasting impact on projects they may be interested in or care about. The community includes the Foundation and Front Range Community College programs, faculty, staff, and students.
The FRCC Foundation creates fundraising campaigns for particular projects based on input from our FRCC faculty, staff, and students with a specific funding goal and project completion timeline. Supporters can contribute to the campaign financially and are encouraged to share the campaign with their own community and social network.
Anyone! Contributions to projects can be made by any individual or organization. The campaigns while focused to support a program are open for contributions from anyone who is interested in supporting the program.
Find the campaign page for the campaign that you would like to contribute to and click "Make a donation." You will be asked for a contribution amount and credit card information. (You may also choose to send in a check if you do not want to contribute with a credit card. Information is provided below on how to fund a campaign with a check.) You can also contribute by telling your friends and family about a campaign that you are interested in, or by spreading the word across your social networks.
We accept these credit cards for processing online donations: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. For crowdfunding campaigns, credit card payments through the campaign page are preferred but paper checks are more than welcome as explained below.
Yes. If you want to make a donation with a check, please make sure you include the campaign name and account you want to fund on the check. Please also include your return address as you will receive a letter confirming your donation. You can send your donation to:

Yes, your contribution is a donation gift made to the Foundation and is tax deductible as allowed by law. You will receive a tax-deductible receipt for the entire amount of your donation at the time you complete your donation.
No, the Foundation does not store credit card information. Your credit card information is not available once your credit card is billed for your donation.

Funds are transferred from Foundation to the campaign funds as the contributions are processed. The Foundation distributes the funds based on the campaign end date or if the campaign has no end date, then during an appropriate time in the process. For example, funds that support scholarships are distributed during the scholarship cycle.

Yes. There is a button on the Campaign page thank you page that you will see after a contribution is given that enables you as a donor to share your contribution with your own social networks right from the page. You can also share the campaign’s URL directly on social media, or use the share button from the campaign page.
100% of the funds raised will be used by the campaign to which you have contributed. Our payment processor does charge 2.9% + $0.30 per online transaction at the time of donation. The processing fee is paid by the Foundation from unrestricted funds. This policy is subject to change but our goal is to keep transaction costs to a minimum
100% of your contribution goes only to the campaign(s) you selected. Each campaign has a separate account set up by the Foundation’s accounting department. When you select a campaign and complete your donation transition, the money is assigned to that campaign account. The accounts are periodically monitored by a Foundation staff member to ensure funds are deposited to the correct campaign account.
You can always check back on the campaign page to watch funding progress. You can also sign up for updates or follow the campaign’s social media pages for updates. You will receive an email when the campaign fundraising time has expired regardless of the campaign’s success.
Each of the campaign teams has identified a set of baseline tasks and goals in addition to a set of “stretch goals”. Should a campaign be fortunate enough to exceed its funding goal, the additional funds will be utilized to help the team reach the campaign stretch goals as identified in their campaign pages on the Foundation’s website.
No. We believe that campaigns should be able to keep the funds that are raised, even if the total funding goal may not have been reached. We expect each campaign team to make some progress in achieving their goals even if they are not fully funded
Absolutely! Just click the "Ask a Question" button at the bottom of the Campaign Owner box. Your question will be sent to the campaign creator.
Supporters who have contributed to a campaign will receive emails whenever the campaign creator posts an update, or when the campaign funding period ends.

The FRCC crowdfunding program is in its pilot phase. Currently, campaigns are managed by the Foundation with input from FRCC faculty, staff and students.
