American Sign Language

This course is designed to teach American Sign Language in a fun-filled way and to remember what you’ve learned and feel comfortable with the language! For adults and teens you will: Learn the language and increase communication skills, embrace deaf culture and history, use basic signs to express yourself with your hands and talk across crowded rooms and in noisy environments. For parents of infants and toddlers you will: understand what your child wants and needs, reduce tears, tantrums, and frustration, and increase your child’s IQ and reading skills. Fundamentals of Interior Design

Focusing on residential design, students will develop an awareness of basic space planning, color, lighting, textiles and surface materials, furniture, art and accessories. Students are encouraged to participate weekly on an instructor-guided design project, bringing the lecture notes alive! Students need to bring the following supplies: colored pencils (or crayons), a color wheel, home/shelter magazines, a tape measure. Required: $10 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the beginning of course. (Minimum class size is 6 and 15 maximum.) Instructor: Cynthia Peacock

Summertime and Ghost Towns

This course is ideal for ghost town enthusiasts. Especially recommended for all those planning their summertime travels and wondering what ghost towns they should visit and how to get there. Day trips to ghost towns are fun, budget friendly, and easy. This course reviews day trip planning to ghost towns and how to get the most for your buck. Learn about the chilling stories from the mining era when gold, silver, coal, and copper ruled the West. This course is light, fun-filled, and ideal for travelers. The instructor is the author of the book “Ghost Towns of the Rockies.” Required: $15 materials fee due to the instructor at the beginning of the course for text. (Minimum class size is 4 and maximum is 24.) Instructor: Preethi Burkholder

Numerology: A Blueprint for Your Life

The numbers 0-9 simply reflect the natural, predictable cycles of nature, each having its own unique set of characteristics. Your birth date and birth name reflect pertinent information in recognizing your natural talents and abilities, the core of your passion! Based on the Pythagorean Theorem, numerology provides a panoramic view of your life, describing the current and future trends, people and places where opportunities are likely to be found, and the fruitful outcome that may be expected. Participants will create their ‘personal blueprint’ through lighthearted class presentations and exercises that expand upon knowledge from previous sessions. Participants should bring a pencil, black and red ink pens, and a calculator. Required: $5 materials fee paid to the instructor at the beginning of class. (Minimum class size is 4 and 15 maximum.) Foreign Language & Culture  

Front Range Community College offers a variety of non-credit foreign language programs where students learn the basic grammar, meaning, vocabulary and use of the language. Classes are taught with an integrated approach that emphasizes oral proficiency but also focuses on reading and writing appropriate for everyday communication. The program is appropriate for those hoping to travel to a foreign country or simply wanting to be able to communicate in the target language.
