Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CAD)

Drafters with a CAD degree are in demand.
The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment forecasts (2009) that over the next nine years there will be 72 openings per year for architectural and civil drafters; 16 openings per year for electrical and electronics drafters; 21 openings per year for mechanical drafters.

You can earn an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CAD) from classroom-based courses at the Larimer or Westminster campuses. Some required general education courses can be taken online or at any FRCC campus.

Our faculty has worked closely with the University of Colorado-Boulder and Colorado State University so several CAD classes will transfer. Of course, there also are plenty of general-education classes guaranteed to transfer. As always, work closely with your advisor.
