You can earn a dental assistant certification from classroom-based courses at the Larimer Campus, with clinical experiences at sites in northern Colorado. The Front Range Dental Clinic, staffed by licensed dentists and dental hygienists, is right on campus. It offers an additional clinical experience.

Dental assistant certification puts you in the workforce quickly.

This is a 45-credit hour certificate that full-time students complete in 11 months. The program also accepts part-time students who will complete the program over five consecutive semesters. See required courses and course descriptions

Dental Assistants are an important part of an oral-health-care team. They assist dentists and dental specialists in all phases of dental treatment. They also contribute skills in office management, clinical assisting, laboratory procedures, dental radiography, and infection control. You can work in a dental office or clinic. Some dental assistants choose to teach or work in dental sales.

The Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association accredits the Dental Assisting Program, a special accrediting body recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation and by the U.S. Department of Education. Graduates are eligible for the Dental Assisting National Board Examination.
