Jobs abound for Registered Nurses
Nursing requires organizational and critical thinking skills, physical stamina, and the ability to handle stress in a dynamic environment. There are many career opportunities in nursing—including staff nursing, independent practice, education or international health. You can also specialize in a field such as obstetrics, pediatrics, psychiatric nursing, or gerontological nursing. And according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in the coming decade, more new jobs are expected to be created for Registered Nurses than for any other occupation. In fact, employment of RNs is expected to grow by 22 percent through 2018. See the job outlook for nursing. See gainful employment information.
