Preparing for Your Advising Session

We strongly believe in a shared responsibility between you and your academic advisor. Though you are ultimately responsible for the decisions you make as a student, our academic advisors are knowledgeable and available to help answer your questions along the way.

When you meet with your academic advisor, be sure to:

  • Provide unofficial transcripts, ACT/SAT scores or Accuplacer® scores from within the last 5 years, if you are a new student to Front Range Community College.

  • Bring any documents you completed or reviewed in previous academic advising sessions. This may include catalog or degree worksheets, academic plans, transfer guides, or recommended course suggestions.

  • Bring helpful information you have received from faculty or specific transfer information from institutions you may be interested in transferring to.

  • Print out, review, and bring a copy of your Degree Check. Degree Check is a useful tool to help you track your progress so you understand how your courses and educational plan are meeting your degree requirements. You can find the Degree Check on the Student tab in eWOLF, along with instructions on how to use the program. If you do not know how to use Degree Check, this also a great question for your academic advising session.
