2014 Commencement Ceremony

Parking:   The Budweiser Event Center has ample parking.
Ceremony:   Commencement lasts approximately 75 minutes. A commencement program booklet will be placed on each graduation candidate’s seat in the Event Center.
Guests:   The college welcomes you to invite as many guests who would like to join you in this celebration. Please note, concessions at the Budweiser Event Center will not be open during the ceremony; however, your guests are welcome to bring their own non-alcoholic beverages. Plastic containers only, glass bottles will not be permitted.
RSVP:   RSVP online if you are coming to the ceremony.
Timeline:  

6:15 p.m. Students check-in and assemble in the main lobby for processional.

  • Arrive no later than 6:25 p.m.
  • You must have made a reservation to participate in Commencement.
  • You must have purchased a cap, gown, and tassel to participate in Commencement. See “Regalia” section below for details.   
  • The Budweiser Event Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Leave personal belongings with your guests.
  • A staff member will greet you in the lobby and issue you a blue name card. If you are interested in the photos GradImages will be taking during the event, please fill out the other side of this card so that they can contact you. Keep the card with you until you are escorted to the stage. You will be handing the card to the narrator to read during the ceremony. Remember, along with your name, and applicable graduation honors, one degree or one certificate will be read. This information will be on your name card.
     

6:30 p.m. Guests to be seated
 
7:00 p.m. Processional begins at the Budweiser Event Center

8:15 p.m. Reception with cake and refreshments will be held next door in the Ranch 1st National Bank Exhibition Hall.

YouTube:   The Commencement Ceremony will be recorded and posted to YouTube. See the 2014 video.
DVD:   DVD recordings of the Commencement Ceremony are not available this year. Instead, the video is on YouTube (see above).
Photography:   GradImages is the official photographer for our Commencement. Proofs will be sent to your home and via email within three to five days after graduation. Pictures can be ordered online, by phone or by mail. GradImages can be contacted at 800-261-2576 or through the website at www.gradimages.com. Registering with GradImages provides you with the information you need to deliver your graduation proofs to you in a timely manner. Giving GradImages an accurate mailing address and email address will allow them to get your proofs to you on the first try. You may also provide them with email addresses of up to six friends and family members to allow them to celebrate in the accomplishment.

There will be several informal photo opportunities with our mascot for you and your guests after the ceremony on the Concourse level, between sections N-M and M-L, and to the right of the First Aid station.

Regalia

  • The Wolves’ Den Bookstore will have caps, gowns, and tassels available for $35.00 plus tax beginning April 7 through May 13. A fitting for the gowns is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on April 7.
  • If you are a member of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) please contact Victoria Eisele about obtaining a gold tassel for the Commencement Ceremony.
  • If you are a summa cum laude candidate (that is, you have earned a cumulative GPA of 4.00 and accumulated 30 or more college level credit hours at FRCC) you will be issued an honor cord.
  • After the ceremony, please consider donating your cap and gown to future graduates. There will be a box to deposit caps and gowns by the entrance of the Budweiser Event Center. Donations will also be accepted at any time after Commencement at the Information Desk in the Mount Antero building.
