 Notes

Check the box next to each item that is true for your course:

  •  Pay-per-student. I am willing to teach on a pay-per-student basis if the course is underenrolled (less than 12 on first day of class, less than 7 at census), but is approved to run to meet critical student needs. Pay is at the campus tuition rate per student per the FRCC compensation handbook.
  •  Raise the cap to 34. I am willing to raise the cap to 34 to accommodate extra enrollment if needed. You will be reimbursed $25/credit hour/student for each student who remains in the class above 25 at census.
  •  Proctored exam. This course requires that at least one exam or assignment is proctored in the FRCC testing center or other pre-approved site.
  •  Field trip. This course requires a field trip. Please discuss field trips with your online lead.

Acceptance

By accepting this teaching assignment I agree to:

Complete Online Instructor Certification prior to the start of the semester and to contact my online lead or instructional designer if I need additional assistance.

Comply with all FRCC Online Course Quality Guidelines and CCCNS standards.

Actively participate in my online course, responding to email and discussion posts at least every 24-48 hours Monday - Friday. If for any reason I am unable to participate in my class for more than 72 hours I will contact my online lead to arrange coverage. A paid substitute is required for absences longer 72 hours (not including weekends, college breaks or holidays).

Notify online lead and obtain prior approval from the appropriate dean(s) and VP(s) to teach more than a full load of courses at FRCC (including both campus-based and online courses). For part-time instructors, a full load is 80% of the load for a full time instructor in that discipline. For example, in disciplines without labs, full-time faculty may teach 15 credits and part time instructors may teach a maximum of 12 credits.

Meet all course deadlines, including:

As soon as possible – Copy content to your course section.  Instructions are available under "Content" in the Faculty Learning Community.

Make sure my course is Ready to Run and submit a Ready2Run checklist by Monday of the last week of the previous semester (preferred) or by Monday the week before classes begin (at the latest) (Link to  Ready to Run checklist).

Beginning of class - Report student no-shows in Banner via the eWolf portal by dates announced by financial aid. Include a content-related assignment due no later than the day before no shows must be reported.

Within one week of due dates - Return grades and feedback on most assignments (discuss exceptions with your online lead).

At least one week prior to a proctored exam - complete the exam cover sheet http://frontrange.edu/Academics/Online-Learning/Forms/Online-Learning-Coversheet.aspx. At the same time, make sure the exam settings in Desire2Learn match the cover sheet (especially dates, passwords, and instructions). Email a backup copy of the exam and the class roster to the testing center.

By the deadline posted on academic calendar  - Submit final grades in Banner via the eWolf portal. Also download a copy of your Desire2Learn gradebook in Excel and send a copy to OL@frontrange.edu as a backup. In the subject line indicate: Gradebook for Course (include number and section).
