From getting help with deciding what to major in, understanding your career options and landing your first job or internship, our career services team is here to help.

How Career Services Can Help

At FRCC Career Services, we'll help you uncover your interests and aptitudes, explore careers and help you map out a plan to get out into the workforce.  Here are some of the ways we can help you:

  • Learn about Yourself. The first step is to use a variety of assessment tools to help you uncover what matters to you most. You'll examine your interests, skills, values and personality traits—and what matters most to you in your career. To get started, schedule a career counseling appointment in Navigate. Check out the assessment tools we offer.
  • Explore Careers. With your career counselor, you'll learn about careers that match your interests, skills values and personality. You'll also learn what you can do with your major. As an additional resource, visit What Can I Do With This Major?
  • Create Your Plan. Whether you're ready to enter the workforce or transfer to a 4-year institution, we'll help you map out a step-by-step plan.  Get more details about the process in our guide, Develop a Career Plan.
  • Build Your Resume, Cover Letter and Interviewing Skills. We'll help you craft your application materials  communicate your skills and experience prospective employees. To get started, take a look at the Career Resource Guide.
  • Get Real-World Experience. We're here to support you as you search for internships and jobs. We partner with local businesses to help both students and alumni to find opportunities that match your talents and passions.

Parker-Dewey Micro Internship Opportunities

Micro-internships are short-term, paid, professional assignments that are similar to those given to new hires or interns.  They are used by companies ranging from those in the Fortune 100 to emerging start-ups both in Colorado and across the country. Our micro-internships are facilitated by Parker Dewey, which connects students and recent grads with organizations that need support.

These projects offer you the opportunity to demonstrate skills, explore career paths and build your network as you work to find the right full-time role. Unlike traditional internships, these opportunities:

  • Take place year-round
  • Typically range from 5 to 40 hours of work
  • Are typically due between one week and one month after kick-off
