Top energy companies in Northern Colorado helped to develop this hand-on training for technicians, operators and production workers. These are production and technician worker positions starting at $30,000/year with benefits. Those who successfully complete this 92-hour program are invited to an exclusive job fair with the area's top energy companies.
Training Curriculum
Applicants must successfully complete the Energy Boost Accuplacer assessments to verify basic arithmetic and grammar/sentence skills. Production Worker - Vestas Blades America, Inc.
Assists teams engaged in the fabrication or assembly of structural Blade products in safely producing top quality blades in accordance with the production plan by performing the following duties. (Includes all of the functions listed below depending on work placement)
Safety:
Make safety your number one priority - responsibility.
Wear protective suit, safety toe boots, eye protection, gloves and other personal protective equipment as required.
Safely perform duties related to generating and storing hazardous waste in satellite accumulation areas.
Manual Production Processing/Duties:
Load, stack, and transport materials by hand-truck, forklift, crane or jib.
Prepare and finish surfaces.
Molding, fabricate laminates, applying epoxies, laying glass fiber composites.
Use measuring tools and gages.
Use glass fiber structural composites.
Use sanders, grinders, vibrating and non-vibrating hand tools.
Use simple and complex machines.
Operate computer controlled processing equipment.
Perform regular maintenance on blade moulds and mandrels.
Basic cleaning of machine parts and first line maintenance.

Clean interior surfaces of holes.

Production Assembly Position - Vestas Nacelles America, Inc.
Warehouse Worker:
Position will work in an area of the production assembly such as receiving, incoming components, replenishing production cells, and the shipment of completed nacelles. Warehouse Workers will be trained and certified in forklift operation. Position will be trained by a Process Instructor and report to a Team Leader.
Position requires warehouse work experience. Forklift operation experience and previous certification required. Must have a strong work ethic with a strong sense of urgency; able to learn. Able to stand and walk on concrete floors for long periods of time. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Pay is $16.54 per hour.
Production Worker:
Position will work in an area of the nacelle production assembly process. Production Worker employees will be trained and certified in crane operation. Positions will be trained by a Process Instructor and report to a Team Leader.
Position requires mechanically-inclined individuals. Auto, aircraft, and maintenance mechanics highly preferred. Assembly, manufacturing, or production work experience a definite plus. Must have a strong work ethic with a strong sense of urgency; able to learn. Able to stand and walk on concrete floors for long periods of time; able to climb up ladder to 12 feet. Requirements include successful completion of FRCC 2-hour Mechanical / Electrical Testing (both hands-on & written).
Pay is $16.54 per hour.

Equipment Engineering Technician I (Days/Nights) - Abound Solar
Reports to: Equipment Maintenance Manager / Shift Supervisor
Position Description:
Hands on technician will support the assembly and test of complex manufacturing equipment involved with the production of solar modules. Individual will specialize in vacuum, mechanical, and electrical/control chamber assembly, test and operation. This position has 4 levels; higher level positions are based on depth and breadth of knowledge, experience and demonstrated skill sets.
This shift position will be located at our Longmont, CO, facility and will support a 24*7 operation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Required to work with new Vacuum chamber designs. Will require the ability to diagnose and resolve vacuum, mechanical, and electrical/control system issues at high temperature such as leakage, pump issues, load lock problems, power, instrumentation, controls etc.
- Must be willing to work in a dynamic team environment.
- Complete Periodic Maintenance procedures as directed. Collaborate with manufacturing technicians to minimize tool downtime.

Power System Operator - Platt River Power Authority
Job Overview:
The Power System Operator (PSO) Trainee participates in a 1 to 2 year long training program in preparation for reliably operating Platte River’s transmission system while maintaining compliance to Reliability Standards and scheduling generation facilities to meet load obligations. The length of the training program will depend on the successful applicant’s prior experience and include both on-the-job and classroom training. Successful completion of the training program will include passing the NERC certification test and favorable evaluations by the System Operations Manager, Chief PSO, and Power System Training Coordinator.

Production Worker, Machinist, Mechanical Assembler - Woodward, Inc
Entry level positions at Woodward include Production Worker, Machinist, and MechanicalAssembler. The Production Worker is responsible for operating basic machines and deburring or light assembly. A basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to use a variety of hand tools are
