What Is RTA?

The RTA program at FRCC is designed to set you up for success at Colorado State University before you ever set foot on CSU's campus. Think of RTA as your transfer support system—a team, a plan and a community all in one!

During your first semester in the program, you take a free one-credit RTA class with other FRCC students who are future Rams. Then, for your remaining semesters at FRCC, you have continued access to CSU events and resources, one-to-one transfer advising and supported transfer planning. You don't need to have everything figured out to join. We will help you get there.

RTA Benefits

Transfer Success Coaching

Not sure what classes to take or where to start? Your RTA coordinator has you covered. This is a real person in your corner, someone who understands the transfer process and will help you:

  • Build a semester-by-semester plan of FRCC classes tailored to your intended CSU major, even if you're still exploring.
  • Finish your associate's degree either before or after transferring, whatever works best for you.
  • Make the most of your financial aid and connect you with food, housing, and other support resources if you need them.

Custom-Designed Student Success Course (AAA1001)

All RTA students complete the RTA AAA course their first semester in the program. This course was co-designed by FRCC and CSU and gives you a real preview of what university life is like, all while you're still at FRCC. It's a 12-week class with two sessions held right on CSU's campus, so you'll already feel at home when you transfer. If you've never visited a four-year university before, this is a great introduction.

Dual Student Benefits

As an RTA student, you'll have access to resources at both FRCC and CSU, so you'll be part of the CSU community long before transfer day! During the first two weeks of RTA AAA class, you will get your CSU student ID (RamCard), which will give you access to:

  • CSU clubs and student organizations
  • CSU Health Network
  • Rams athletics tickets—football, volleyball, basketball and more!
  • Recreation center & intramural sports
  • Undergraduate research opportunities
  • Legal services
  • And more...
