Customized IBM Training Courses
Front Range Community College (FRCC) is partnering with IBM to provide technical training courses to Colorado IBM employees. These virtual courses combine instruction with hands-on labs facilitated by instructors with industry experience and subject matter expertise.
The courses are offered to IBM employees at no cost; simply register below to sign up for the course of your choice. All courses are capped at 20 participants. If you try to register for a course that is filled, you’ll be placed on a wait list and we’ll notify you if a seat is available before the start date. If you register and then have a change in plans, please let the contact listed in your confirmation notice know so we can open your spot to the next person on the list.
Agile Scrum Master
Participants in this course will learn the Agile Scrum project management approach through dynamic lessons and hands-on activities to improve their ability to produce quality end products for customers. This course provides the information to successfully pass the Scrum Master certification exam.

- Understand the intent and nuances of the Scrum methodology
- Identify roles, ideologies, best practices, and tools/meetings

IBM Cloud Advocate
IBM Cloud is the cloud with advanced capabilities for regulated industries, sensitive data and applications that run anywhere. Developing IBM Cloud skills is a great way to prepare for exciting career opportunities in a rapidly growing field.
Participants will learn the basics of cloud computing, as well as cloud services, deployment models, architecture, and emerging trends. This course provides the training to successfully complete the IBM Cloud Advocate certification exam.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the cloud, its history, and importance
- Identify job roles that support the cloud
- Identify cloud services and deployment models
- Understand cloud fundamentals (structure, interface, compliance)
- Identify IBM Cloud security monitoring services

AWS Academy Cloud Foundations
AWS Academy Cloud Foundations is intended for students who seek an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts, independent of specific technical roles. It provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS core services, security, architecture, pricing, and support.
Learning Objectives
- Define the AWS Cloud and explain the AWS pricing philosophy
- Identify the global infrastructure components of AWS
- Describe the security and compliance measures of the AWS Cloud, including AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Create a virtual private cloud (VPC) by using Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC)
- Demonstrate when to use Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), AWS Lambda, and AWS Elastic Beanstalk
- Differentiate between Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS), Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS), and Amazon Simple Storage Service Glacier (Amazon S3 Glacier)
- Demonstrate when to use AWS database services, including Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon Aurora
- Explain the architectural principles of the AWS Cloud
- Explore key concepts related to Elastic Load Balancing, Amazon CloudWatch, and Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling

Course Delivery Format
Each of the courses will be delivered in an online/virtual, instructor-led format to IBM Colorado employees by instructors with industry experience and expertise in the subject.
Registering for Courses
To register, click on the ‘Register’ link to the right of the course. Enter the required information for each class you wish to register for and use your IBM email address. Registration will close two business days prior to the first class.
Withdrawl - If you need to withdraw from the course after registering, please send us an email at least one week prior to the start of the first class so that your seat can be offered to one of your colleagues on the waitlist.
Completion
Learners must attend at least 80 percent of scheduled time for satisfactory completion of the course.
