Customized IBM Training Courses

Front Range Community College (FRCC) is partnering with IBM to provide technical training courses to Colorado IBM employees. These virtual courses combine instruction with hands-on labs facilitated by instructors with industry experience and subject matter expertise.

These courses are offered to IBM employees at no cost; simply register below to sign up for the course of your choice. All courses are capped at 10 IBM participants. If you try to register for a course that is filled, you'll be placed on a wait list and we will notify you if a seat is available before the start date.

 An additional 10 slots may be filled from FRCC’s Continuing Education Department. If you are put on a waitlist, we will reach out as soon as Continuing Education registration closes to open additional slots for IBM employees.

AWS Academy Machine Learning Foundations 

AWS Academy Machine Learning Foundations introduces students to the concepts and terminology of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. By the end of this course, students will be able to select and apply machine learning services to resolve business problems. They will also be able to label, build, train, and deploy a custom machine learning model through a guided, hands-on approach. 

Prerequisites 

To make the most of this workshop, we recommend completing AWS Academy Cloud Foundations (or another introductory cloud computing course), experience scripting with Python or equivalent, and a basic understanding of statistics. 

Target Audience 

  • Anyone with current or future roles or general interest in the fields of data science, Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Learning Objectives 

  • Describe machine learning (ML). 
  • Implement a machine learning pipeline using Amazon SageMaker. 
  • Use managed Amazon ML services for forecasting. 
  • Use managed Amazon ML services for computer vision.

Agile Scrum Master Certification Training 

Participants in this course will learn the Agile Scrum project management approach through dynamic lessons and hands-on activities to improve their ability to produce quality end products for customers. This course provides the information to successfully pass the Scrum Master certification exam. 

Prerequisites 

While not mandatory, having project management experience or prior Agile/Scrum training will be beneficial in comprehending and implementing the concepts discussed in this training.

Agile Product Owner Certification Training 

This dynamic training focuses on the role of the Product Owner and prepares learners to sit for the SCRUM Study certification exam. The Product Owner represents the voice of the customer and is in charge of making sure business value and needs are effectively communicated to the Scrum Team. They define requirements and guarantee they are met. The Product Owner’s vision is twofold; they must hold the interests of the stake holders equal to those of the Scrum Team. Training participants are awarded the Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC®) certificate upon successfully passing their certification exam. 

Prerequisites 

We recommend having a foundational understanding of Agile methodologies. Consider attending "Agile Scrum for Leaders Webinar” or “Agile Scrum Master Certification.” While not mandatory, having prior Agile/Scrum training will be beneficial in comprehending and implementing the concepts discussed in this training.

Each of the courses will be delivered in an online/virtual, instructor-led format to you, by instructors with industry experience and expertise in the subject.

Registering for Courses

Select the ‘Register' button by each course. Enter the required information for each class you wish to register for and use your IBM email address. Registration will close two business days prior to the first class.

Withdrawal - If you need to withdraw from the course after registering, please send us an email at least 3 days prior to the start of the first class so that your seat can be offered to one of your colleagues on the waitlist.

Completion

Learners must attend at least 80 percent of scheduled time for satisfactory completion of the course.
