Even when applying for veterinary school at Colorado State University, Gwen knew that teaching was her passion. After completing her DVM, Gwen had the opportunity to go back to graduate school to teach veterinary and human anatomy while completing her M.S. in Anatomy. From 1993 to 2005, Gwen worked as a small-animal veterinarian in several veterinary practices in Wisconsin and Colorado, where she took a particular interest in surgery, ultrasonography, and emergency medicine. While working in a small-animal emergency clinic, she was invited to teach part time. She joined FRCC’s Veterinary Technology Program as a full-time faculty member in 2005.
