College Accreditation
Accreditation matters to you as a student. It's what allows FRCC to offer federal financial aid, and it's what lets your credits transfer to other colleges and universities. Employers and other schools recognize an FRCC degree or transcript because the college is accredited.
Front Range Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), which confirms that FRCC meets national standards for quality and continuous improvement in higher education.
Every ten years, HLC conducts a full review of that accreditation, called a comprehensive evaluation. FRCC's next comprehensive evaluation is scheduled for October 2027.
In the lead-up to the visit, faculty, staff and administrators across all three campuses are reviewing programs, gathering evidence and preparing documentation that shows how FRCC continues to meet HLC's standards. A mock site visit in February 2027 will help the college test its readiness ahead of the actual evaluation.
During the October 2027 visit, a team of HLC peer reviewers will spend time on campus meeting with students, faculty and staff. Their findings inform HLC's decision on FRCC's continued accreditation.

Program Accreditation
All programs listed in our college catalog are approved by the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE), the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE), the Colorado State Approving Agency for Veterans Education and Training and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). In addition to college accreditation, many FRCC programs have additional program accreditation, recognition and/or approval by State Departments and/or National Associations.
