Improve your English reading, writing and speaking skills with our English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at FRCC. These skills can help prepare you for success in both college and your career.

ESL instructors work with students to:

  • Understand, speak, read and write English for everyday situations
  • Improve your pronunciation
  • Learn about American culture and civics
  • Improve academic English and sharpen 21st century skills needed to be successful in college and career. These skills include problem solving, critical thinking, creative thinking, collaboration and technology.
  • Develop and practice leadership skills.

ESL Class Information

We are excited to share our winter ESL class offerings and schedules! Get information about each ESL class, including location, costs and schedule.

High-Basic ESL

Learn to speak English with confidence in your daily life.  Course will focus on: 

  • Identifying new words and writing sentences
  • Increasing reading comprehension
  • Strengthening listening skills

High-Basic ESL

Intermediate ESL

Build your English language skills in this intermediate-level English as a Second Language (ESL) course.  You will work on developing confidence and skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing paragraphs in English.

Intermediate ESL

Advanced ESL

Build your English language and academic English skills through reading, discussions and written exercises.  Please note this class will be taught in a remote/online format. The instructor will send Zoom links to the students prior to the class start date.
