Jennie received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and her MA from the University of Chicago. She is a practicing and exhibiting artist, her work is in various collections, shown nationally and has been published by Phaidon Press. She is a recipient of NEA and NEH grants. She has served as adjunct faculty in the Department of Art Education and as an administrator for the Division of Continuing Studies both at SAIC and also worked as a Cultural Enrichment Manager for the Chicago Park District. She has taught at Colorado State University and the University of Wyoming and currently lives in the foothills off grid in Masonville.
Teaching Philosophy
Students choose their own path as an artist. My role as an art educator is to inform them in all possibilities of being in the visual art world; from studio practice to history and theory and then on to decisions about furthering their education - including career paths and ideas regarding the lifestyle of the working artist.
