Alan Dinwiddie

Larimer Campus
Office Location

Alan has been a teacher for over 40 years, teaching mathematics in middle school through college. He has been at the Larimer Campus for 18 years, teaching courses from Pre-Algebra through Calculus III. He thrives on seeing students succeed in mathematics! Outside of teaching Alan enjoys his family, friends, church activities, and flying his remote controlled airplanes.
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy arises from my philosophy of life: people are important, so work with all diligence to make a positive impact on their lives. In my teaching I care deeply for the success of my students, both in and out of the classroom. While it is a real joy to help the exceptional student excel to a higher plane, it is just as rewarding to meet often with the struggling student that simply wants to pass the course. An added bonus is when the latter student completes the course with a changed attitude and thinks positively for the first time towards the subject of mathematics.
