Born in Denver and educated in Jefferson County, Lydia earned a B.A. from Metropolitan State University and teaching certificate from the state of Colorado. After graduation, she worked in a variety of fields ranging from substitute teacher and graphic artist to art gallery director. In 1991 she moved to Tampa, Florida to attend the University of South Florida where she studied studio art, was a teaching assistant and received a Master of Fine Arts. Upon her return to Denver she did a variety of community art activities and was an art instructor. Lydia is currently full-time art faculty at Front Range Community College, Westminster Campus, where she is also Art Lead Faculty, Visual and Performing Arts Gallery Co-Lead and State Art Discipline Co-Chair. Additionally, she is active in a variety of art events and is a member of SPARK Gallery, a co-op, artist-run gallery located in Denver's Art District on Santa Fe.
