Shawna has taught composition, literature, and creative writing at FRCC since 1999, and continues to teach composition in the Learning Communities program. She also chairs the Rhetoric, Languages, and Philosophy department which houses the English and College Composition & Reading, Literature, Journalism, Communication, foreign languages, and Philosophy programs.
Teaching Philosophy
I believe that community colleges make education truly democratic. Regardless of one’s socio-economic background or GPA K-12, we are willing to work with anyone who wants to learn and help that person create a whole new path. I am happy to be a part of that system.
