Global History for a Small Planet

This year’s theme is “Global History for a Small Planet."  Our conference will take place on Arbor Day, and in the week of Earth Day, marking a week where FRCC campuses will explore various ways of understanding human history in connection to their environments, resources and each other.

Historians often explore these topics through examination of migrations to various geographical areas, social, economic and political histories of natural resource use, and through the examination of what people across cultures viewed and laid claim over the spaces they called home.

Our conference welcomes student papers of all topics and all regions across all time periodsso students are encouraged to submit any paper on any topic.  Papers that address international topics, or ones that address themes about claimed spaces and/or resources will be given priority consideration for a key panel presentation connected to our theme.
