Concurrent Enrollment Options

There are several ways to take Concurrent Enrollment classes at FRCC. Below are the programs we offer.

High School Select

High School Select classes are taught at your local high school for college credit. Learn More

Take college courses for both high school and college credit at a FRCC campus. Learn More 

ASCENT

In May 2025, SB25-315 repealed the ASCENT program after the 2025-26 budget year and the program will officially sunset June 30th, 2026. For more information, please review CDE's website.

ASCENT, or Accelerating Students through Concurrent ENrollmenT, is fifth-year high school program where eligible students who have successfully completed at least nine college credits prior to high school graduation can receive another year of college here at FRCC tuition free. While tuition is covered by the school district, students may be responsible for the cost of textbooks and fees.

TREP (Teacher Recruitment Education and Preparation Program)

On March 18th, 2026, the Joint Budget Committee for Colorado's Legislature voted to phase out the Teacher Recruitment Education and Preparation program, which is currently funded in the School Finance section of the Long Bill. The Joint Budget Committee voted to limit the program in 2026-27 only to students that were enrolled in their fifth year 2025-26.
