Karly didn’t enroll at FRCC with the goal of working toward a bachelor’s degree. After all, she already had one – in health and exercise science – as well as a job as an exercise therapist in a pulmonary rehabilitation center. Trouble was, Karly wasn’t fulfilled in her career and wanted to investigate new ones. So she decided to test out our Pharmacy Technician Program to see if that might be a better fit.

Karly soon learned it was. In fact, she credits the program, her hospital internship, and the caring instructor who helped her secure it for all she’s achieved since graduating from FRCC. Which includes earning her Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) from the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Colorado; completing her residency at the VA Hospital in Madison, Wis., and launching a rewarding career as a clinical cardiac ICU pharmacist with Centura Health.

Karly’s prescription for others who are thinking about making a career move? Start at Front Range Community College.

“You can change your direction at FRCC. There’s a positive feeling there, a nice sense of community. The instructors are in tune with students and invested in their success.”
