Mayor of Thornton, Colorado

FRCC Student of Political Science and Public Administration

When Heidi decided to enroll at FRCC, it had been twenty-five years since she’d been a student. The first thing she learned? Just how much she loved being back at school, especially one like Front Range Community College. With small classes, great instructors and courses like world geography, Heidi soon discovered a love for political science that fueled her burning passion for community involvement and continues to inform her work as Mayor today.

Heidi ultimately transferred to the University of Colorado-Denver to pursue her four-year degree. But she hasn’t forgotten the great start she got right here at FRCC. Which is why she encouraged her son to enroll here, too. And why we’re the front-runner in her personal college poll.

“I thought I was just at FRCC to earn my associate degree and transfer out. But that’s not what happened. I don’t think I had one instructor that I didn’t absolutely love. I came in looking for one thing and found a community.”
