Wondering if FRCC is the Right College for You?

Our FREE Pathway Days are a great way to explore which path you might like to take at FRCC. Come learn about our six Career and Academic Communities to see which one might be a good fit for you.

  • Class activities/demonstrations
  • Tours of program classroom/lab spaces
  • Bachelor’s Degree transfer options (if applicable)
  • Career opportunities
  • A campus resource fair with Pathway Advisors, Career Services, Financial Aid, Student Life, etc.
  • Panel discussion with representatives from the various pathway career fields and/or transfer admissions representatives from local colleges/universities, such as CU Boulder, MSU-Denver, CSU, UNC, University of Denver, Western State Colorado University, etc.

High school students are welcome to attend on their own or as part of a school field trip.

Friday, November 30, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The Social Sciences, Education & Public Service Career and Academic CommunitySocial Science, Education & Public Service Community Icon Pathway prepares students to transfer to a four-year school majoring in anthropology, criminal justice, economics, education, geography, history, political science, psychology, or sociology.  Students can also complete degrees and certificates designed to quickly advance them into a career as an early childhood educator, para-educator, public safety dispatcher, or paralegal.  In these programs, students focus on critical thinking, writing, collaboration, research analysis, observation and reflection, and appreciation of the rich diversity of the world.

The Liberal Arts, Communication & Design Career and Academic Community PathwayLiberal Arts, Communication & Design Community Icon prepares students majoring in art/art history, communications, English, music, Spanish, philosophy, French, or theatre for transfer to a four-year school. This community also includes certificates and degrees in graphic design, video production, web design, digital animation, music and sound/audio production, American Sign Language interpreter, and more. These programs foster students’ understanding of themselves and the world through mastery of language, communication, critical thinking, and artistic expression.

The Manufacturing, Automotive, Construction & Design Technologies Career and AcademicManufacturing, Automotive, Construction & Design Technologies Community Icon Community Pathway provides hands-on, practical education for students interested in technical careers, such as automotive technicians, machinists, optics technicians, architectural drafters, and computer-aided drafting and design (CAD).  Students in this community receive classroom instruction combined with hands-on lab experiences working on the most current equipment and technology.  With a degree or certificate, students will find employment opportunities in various industries including aerospace, construction, medical equipment, architectural drafting, engineering, various automotive industries, and beyond.

The Business & Information Technology Career and Academic Community PathwayBusiness & Information Community Icon prepares you for a career in accounting, business, project management, logistics, computer information systems, web development, hotel operations, and more.  Members of our faculty have or still work in these fields and bring real-world experience to the classroom.  Whether you want to pursue career in business, marketing, cloud computing, cybersecurity, networking technician, etc., FRCC’s degrees and certificates will give you marketable skills to help you grasp the big picture of business, information technology, and computer science, and prepare you for rewarding career and/or further study at a four-year school.

The Math & Science Career and Academic Community Pathway prepares students forMath & Science Community Icon transfer to a four-year school majoring in biology, chemistry, pre-engineering, geology, geography, horticulture, math, or physics.  Students learn mathematical and scientific principles to develop sound reasoning, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.  Students in this community study in state-of-the-art labs, including a cadaver lab, instrument facility, and observatory.  Students in this community are engaged in valuable STEM content analysis taught subject matter experts—approximately 40 percent of our science faculty hold a Ph.D. in their respective fields.

Friday, April 12, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.

The Health Sciences & Wellness Career and Academic Community Pathway trainsHealth Sciences & Wellness Community Icon students to meet the growing demands for qualified health-care professionals—including EMTs, medical assistants, pharmacy technicians, nurses, health information technologists, phlebotomists, nurse aids (CNA), surgical technologists, and more. In this community, students acquire hands-on lab experiences, classroom instruction, and clinical practices with patients at local health-care facilities.  Students receive the highest level of skills and training in each health profession to meet the needs for our ever expanding and changing health-care careers. This career and academic community also includes health and wellness classes, such as human nutrition, dance, weight training, yoga, or meditation and mindfulness.
