ASCENT

What is the ASCENT Program?

A TUITION FREE year of college after high school here at FRCC!

ASCENT, or Accelerating Students through Concurrent ENrollmenT, is fifth-year high school program where eligible students who have successfully completed at least 9 college credits prior to high school graduation can receive another year of college here at FRCC tuition free. While tuition is covered by the school district, students may be responsible for the cost of textbooks and fees.

Please refer to your school district for specific ASCENT application and qualification information:

If you're a 2022-2023 ASCENT candidate who has applied to the program, you must meet with a Pathways Advisor by completing the following steps:

  1. Complete the FRCC Pre-Registration Form. You will select "New to FRCC" under Select which description best suits you. After you complete the Pre-Registration Form, you should receive an email that assigns you to a Pathways Advisor and provides instructions on how to set up an appointment with them. Please check both your FRCC and personal email accounts for this email (including SPAM folders). Please note, if you submit the form after term registration opens, there may be a delay in scheduling your appointment due to advisor availability.
  2. Attend an optional FRCC Orientation. This orientation will provide you with additional campus and college information.
