Health Information Technology Degree

A.A.S. in Health Information Technology

(4-5 semesters)

With an A.A.S. degree in Health Information Technology, you can work as a health data analyst, insurance claims analyst, records technician specialist, release of information specialist, coder, patient information coordinator, or supervisor. You could work in hospitals, physicians’ offices, nursing-care facilities, outpatient care centers, home-health-care services, public health departments, or insurance firms.

In this program you will learn how to acquire, analyze, and protect digital and traditional medical information. You will learn the science of health information management plus the background you will need regarding legal, ethical, medical, and financial areas. Download the HIT Information Packet.

Our program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management (CAHIIM). As a graduate of the HIT program, you will be eligible to take the national Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification exam and receive the RHIT credential.
