Holistic Health Degree

A.A.S. in Holistic Health

The A.A.S. Holistic Health degree prepares you to  practice in an area of holistic health such as aromatherapy, teaching yoga, massage therapy, reflexology, Reiki and wellness coaching. You could set up your own practice or work alongside other practitioners in the holistic and medical fields including wellness facilities, clinics and hospitals.

Holistic Health Certificates


15 credits
(1 semester)

This certificate program teaches students how to to safely use essential oils for therapeutic benefits. This certificate is accredited by the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy.

Holistic Health

(1 semester)

This certificate program supplements a health professional's practice with knowledge of alternative therapies such as massage and herbology. Individuals not in the health profession can also benefit by expanding their knowledge of alternative health practices.

Massage Therapy

39.5 credits
(3 semesters)

This certificate program prepares students to practice as a licensed massage therapist in the State of Colorado. Students are trained in basic massage practices and techniques, including an opportunity to experience specialized therapeutic massages. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared to take the national certification exam through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

This certificate program introduces students to reflexology, which is a gentle art that holistically facilitates opening the channels for healing energy to circulate to all parts of the body. This certificate is a candidate for certification from the American Reflexology Certification Board.

Yoga Teacher

10 credits
(1 semester)

This certificate program prepares students to be a professional Hatha Yoga teacher. Students will develop skills to teach a wide variety of people in various settings. This certificate is certified by the Yoga Alliance.

Classes in Loveland

The holistic health classes meet at the Community Learning Center in the Thompson School District Building, 800 S. Taft Ave., Loveland, and, as needed, at clinical sites in northern Colorado. See map and directions.

Many classes meet once a week and some classes meet on weekends. Some classes are online or “hybrid” (combination of online and classroom instruction).

Transfer Options

Beyond the Holistic Health A.A.S. degree, you can pursue a bachelor’s degree at some colleges and universities. For example, ask your advisor about the Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Therapeutic Practices at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
