Interested in a career in healthcare? Have you considered eye care? This course will prepare you to begin work in the eye care field as an Ophthalmic Assistant. This online, 8 week course, will cover examining the career field in eye care, learning about the anatomy of the eye, the principles of optics, eye health and disease that affect eye health. After successful completion of the course, you will be eligible for an interview with Eye Center of Northern Colorado.
This Pre-Apprenticeship program runs for 8 weeks, starting on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 through Monday, July 26, 2021. This one-hour, online course is held as a virtual session every Monday evening for 1 hour. The course is free of charge and all materials are provided.
The instructor is Sarah Gardner, COA. Sarah has been in ophthalmology for over 15 years and currently serves as the Clinical Training Coordinator for the Eye Center of Northern Colorado. Sarah is both a Certified Retinal Angiographer and a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. Ophthalmology is a complex field with a variety of career paths and never ending learning opportunities and Sarah loves sharing her love of all things eyes.
