Interior Architecture and Design

Degree Details

AAS in Interior Architecture and Design

Program Locations: Larimer

Total Credits: 65 credits (4 semesters)

Dive into an in-depth study of architecture, computer-aided drafting (CAD) and interior design. You'll learn to develop creative abilities through the study of visual elements and principles of design. You'll prepare design graphics through sketching, manual drafting and computer-generated presentation drawings.

Certificate Options

Fundamentals in Interior Design, Drafting and Communication

Program Locations: Larimer

Total Credits: 14 credits (1 semester)

You'll master the fundamental skills used in interior design, drafting and graphic communication. You'll learn architectural drafting techniques, CAD software skills and communication and design principles.

Kitchen and Bath Design

Program Locations: Larimer

Total Credits: 36 credits (3 semesters)

You'll focus on kitchen and bath design processes, materials, AutoCAD software skills and space planning principles. You'll complete a four-credit internship at a design firm or design-related company in northern Colorado. Graduates with an interior architecture and design AAS degree, including internship, will be able to apply six months of experience towards the Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer (CKBD).

National Council for Interior Design Qualifications Exam

Completing both the AAS in interior architecture and design and the kitchen and bath design certificate meets the NCIDQ education requirement. In addition, you'll need to meet the minimum three years of direct supervised/sponsored work hours.
