Sociology

FRCC's transfer-friendly Associate of Arts (AA) degree in sociology explores the forces that shape and change our social worlds and relationships. You'll learn how society affects us as individuals and how we impact society.

Studying sociology gives you skills and abilities that today's employers value: critical and analytical thinking, communication skills, cultural competency and self-awareness. You'll expand your appreciation of social dynamics and diversity, which is a valuable and necessary skill in today’s quickly globalizing society.

You'll develop insights for careers working with and supporting others in such fields as social work, education, research, community and social services, public relations and non-profit work. Plus, at FRCC, you'll have the support of professors and advisors to help you succeed, no matter your goals.

Why Study Sociology at Front Range Community College?

In our small classes you'll learn the art and science of sociology, including its theories and methods. You'll receive personal attention from faculty members as you explore social factors and human behaviors.

A degree in sociology opens the door to careers in human resources, training and development, research, social services, public services, management, disability services, child welfare, victims' rights, labor rights, criminal justice, community organizations and more.

Although many of these careers require bachelor's and graduate degrees, you'll get a strong foundation with a degree from FRCC. You'll work closely with an academic advisor to map out a plan and identify the best transfer option for you.
