Services We Offer
We want to make mental health counseling as accessible as possible. To do this we offer:
Counseling Appointments With FRCC Counselor
These are offered on campus or virtually. Our counselor will work with you to determine what services and resources would be most helpful. If your needs fall outside of the scope of our services, we provide referrals to community providers.
Drop-In Sessions
FRCC offers brief drop-in sessions on campus as well as by phone. Drop-ins are a 15-20 minute meeting with a counselor to get support, problem solve, learn about services, and to make appointments. Students are met on a first-come-first-served basis.
Virtual Sessions Through BetterMynd
If you need to schedule outside of regular business hours, looking for someone with
a specific set of expertise, wanting a counselor who may speak a different language,
FRCC has partnered
with BetterMynd to offer students access to free video-therapy sessions with their diverse network
of licensed mental health counselors.

Requests for Treatment Records
In concert with State of Colorado statutes, FRCC Mental Health Counseling Services does not maintain client records after seven years. Clients have a right to view and/or obtain their treatment records within this timeframe.

Requests for treatment records may take up to 30 business days to complete. We are unable to accommodate same-day record requests or walk-in record requests due to our ethical and clinical responsibilities to review the record prior to releasing it to you.
Please keep in mind that FRCC Mental Health Counseling Services does not provide diagnostic evaluations for individuals participating in counseling services, so there may be limitations to how your records would be useful to you or another provider. We strongly encourage requesting a “treatment summary” as this usually provides enough information, while also safeguarding your privacy and confidentiality. A “treatment summary” usually includes: dates of attendance, presenting goals for treatment, treatment plan, and overall treatment outcome.
